To get better foot feeling and sound absorption feature, we add shock pad on the back of SPC plank. There are different materials of shock pad, such as IXPE, EVA and cork. Sound absorption is extremely important in multi-story, single-family homes, condos, apartments and multi-story offices and hotel buildings. JSA10 is brown oak looking, with this surface and IXPE pad backing, it becomes one of our best sells.
The installation is the same whatever shock pad, with or without shock pad. The thickness of JSA10 is 4.0mm without shock pad. IXPE thickness usually is 1.0mm, 1.5mm. So the total thickness of JSA10 can be 5.0mm and 6.0mm. In terms of comfort, for a hard surface flooring a high-quality foam underlayment can soften the feel of walking on the floor, especially with thinner SPC and vinyl plank flooring. IXPE pad can protect the plank in various ways, such as limiting water intrusion, damages and cracking as well as aiding in sound reduction.
